Never Give Up.
At 37 I fell in love with a tall, dark and handsome attorney from Southern California who, like me, wanted to start a family. I left my career and home in Wisconsin to build a life with him. After trying to conceive naturally for over a year, we got on the rollercoaster ride of infertility - painful IUI’s, IVF’s and all kinds of invasive medical tests. I was doing fertility yoga, special diets, chiropractic, hypno-fertility, prayers, vitamins, meditation, mega hours researching the web, etc. The stress was too much and our relationship ended. I had survived cancer in my early 30's, but the infertility and heartbreak at 40 was devastating. While rebuilding my life I made two decisions. First, I would not give up my dream of becoming a mom – some how, some way, some day. Second, I would take the pain and turn it into something positive - helping other women faced with infertility validate, and celebrate their journeys of love. I invested everything I had to achieve these goals. The Fertility Hope PendantThe Fertility Hope pendant was my first design, a piece of fertility jewelry inspired by my need to create something tangible to honor this challenge. When I realized there was no symbol to raise Infertility Awareness, I created it along with a superhero character and blog called the Infertility Warrior. Both symbols were created to empower the 1 in 7 women who will be faced with infertility sometime in their life. After 5 years and 13 procedures my dream of becoming a mom came true. My son was born a healthy 9.5 lbs and fills my heart with more love and laughter than I ever imagined possible. He was worth all the struggle and worth the wait. Fertility Hope BeadsMy son inspired the line of jewelry called Fertility Hope Beads to create an heirloom piece honoring each step it took to meet your child. I hope my story inspires YOU to keep your eye on your goal, jump those hurdles and Never Give Up!
